Yesterday morning, you laughed for the first time! It was the cutest moment listening to you try to talk to me. We’re starting to find a rhythm in our days. So far, I’ve just been taking the days as they come without trying to form a routine. If you want to eat, we eat; if you want to sleep, we sleep; if you want to play, we lay out on the mat and we play with your toys. We usually wake up around 7:30am and fall asleep around 7 or 8pm. Our rhythm is simple: we eat, we play, we sleep - repeat until bedtime. I’m tired most days, but I’m so happy. We can differentiate your cries now: the whiney one that says you’re bored; the panicked one that wonders if you’re alone (you never are); the frantic one when you pee; the loud one when you’re hungry. You cry less and less as we come to know you and learn how to take care of you before you ever need to cry.

We love you, our sweet daughter.
